Delayed baggage protection

Delayed baggage can be one of the not-so-pleasing surprises during your long-awaited trip. Although airBaltic delivers more than 98% of checked baggage on time, you can still add Delayed baggage protection only for € 5.99 one way or € 9.99 round trip and get € 1000 compensation to your bank account if your baggage is delayed more than 96 hours after your flight. The fee is applicable per passenger and must be purchased for all passengers in the booking.

Protection for your peace of mind

Some things to remember:

  • You can book this service while purchasing your tickets on airBaltic.com, via our Call centre or Online payment form.
  • If your baggage is delayed, please head over to the Lost and Found office at the airport you have landed in. Fill the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) - the agent at the office will issue you a report number afterwards.
  • Within 24 hours after reaching your destination, contact Blue Ribbon Bags - you will find contacts in the confirmation e-mail sent to you earlier.
  • After you have submitted the form, send an e-mail to MBR@blueribbonbags.com. Important! Mention your BRB agreement number as subject of your e-mail letter and attach your Property Irregularity Form (scanned or photographed) to the e-mail. Please make sure that in the attachment all the details from your PIR are visible and can be clearly seen.
  • You will receive live updates about your bag and if it won't be found after 96 hours, you'll receive a compensation of € 1000 to your bank account.

Travel tips:

  • This protection covers also sports equipment. So insure your equipment and travel with no worries!
Terms and conditions of Blue Ribbon Bags

  • After purchase of this service, within 24h passenger will receive confirmation email with all the details needed in case of baggage miscarriage.
  • Payouts € 1000 are per bag. This includes also sport equipment. Payouts are limited to 2 lost bags per person. Blue Ribbon Bags  (further - BRB) tracking service will apply to all bags checked on to the airplane. Each fee is per person, not per bag.
  • One purchase of this service includes all bags checked at the airport, including last minute gate check-ins and sport equipment.
  • Passenger may purchase the BRB service at any moment prior flight's departure.
  • Passenger must purchase the BRB service prior to all flights within outbound or inbound trip. Passenger may not purchase the service while in between legs of a journey (i.e. while in between connections).
  • A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) must be filled at the airport before reporting your mishandled bag to BRB. Undelivered bags must be reported to BRB within 24 hours of filing PIR.
  • Mishandled bag reports are filed simply by going to Blue Ribbon Bag homepage or using the link provided in confirmation email.
  • For the first 96 hours, BRB will work directly with airBaltic to track passengers’ mishandled bags, and expedite their return. BRB will send the passenger an automatic update to mobile phone every time there is a change to the status of the bag.
  • Found baggage will be delivered to the airport, BRB does not handle delivery. BRB won't deliver your bag to your doorstep.
  • Payment of € 1000 is issued if the bag is not delivered to the airport on record with the lost baggage claim within 96 hours.
  • No proof of bag contents is required to receive payment.
  • In the event BRB is unable to facilitate the return of the bag, passenger will be compensated in accordance with the method indicated during submission claim with BRB.
  • BRB commits to continue baggage searches even after 96 hours, and after compensation is paid for 21 days, and in case BRB finds your baggage during this period, the passenger keeps compensation.
  • BRB sells a service, having a BRB service agreement is in addition to any insurance passenger may have. After collecting a BRB check (compensation), you are still able to accept an insurance payout.
  • All purchases are subject to the terms and conditions of the Blue Ribbon Bags Service Agreement.

  • This service fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Personal data processing

  • Please, be aware that if you choose the service of Delayed baggage protection offered by Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC, then for the purpose of conclusion and execution of the agreement between you and Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC, you authorize airBaltic to deliver to Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC the following Personal data: Name, Surname, e-mail address and PNR number (booking reference number). Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC is considered as a separate Personal data controller and their privacy rules are included in the Service Level Agreement, as well as website of Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC. Please, get acquainted with those rules before choosing the service.
  • Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC is registered in United States of America, however, within cooperation with airBaltic Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC has undertaken to comply with European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation No. 679/2016, data transfer is protected by standard contractual clauses.
  • Blue Ribbon Bags, LLC is responsible to deliver service to you pursuant to the rules of the Service Level Agreement.
