Ticket cancellation and refund according to the Israel Consumer Protection Law

You may be entitled to cancel your flight booking if the following criteria are met:

  • If the ticket is bought in Israel via remote sales for flights to/from Israel (including by phone, online, without the presence of the parties), the transaction can be cancelled within 14 days from the date of the transaction or from the date a document approving the purchase is received, whichever is the later, but not later than 7 working days before the commencement of service.
  • New immigrants, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities are entitled to cancel the remote transaction within four months from the date of transaction or from the date consumer receives a document approving the purchase, whichever is the later, but not later than 7 working days before the commencement of service. This will only apply to transaction if the original ticket purchase included a conversation (e.g., phone call, electronic communication) between the merchant and the consumer.
  • airBaltic is entitled to demand verifying the status by checking the relevant certificate.
  • In case of valid cancellation, the cancellation fee will be applied - 5% of the ticket price or NIS 100 whichever is lower.

Request to cancel and refund should be made by the means mentioned below for tickets that were purchased through the airBaltic Call Centre or on airBaltic website for tickets and service covered by the Israel Consumer Protection Law. Requests for refunds purchased from travel agents should be addressed to them.

Definitions:

  • Senior citizen – a person who has attained the age of 65.
  • Person with disabilities – as defined in the Law for Equal Rights for Person with Disabilities.
  • New immigrant – a person residing in Israel during the first five-year period after having received an immigration visa or eligibility certificate.
